Bandette 8! AVAILABLE NOW!
Sorry for shouting in the headline, there. But just to reiterate, the eighth episode of Bandette is available in glorious digital color right now on Comixology for 99¢!

Has Inspector B.D. Belgique of the Special Police finally found the evidence he needs to bring down Absinthe and the FINIS crime syndicate once and for all? Will the insidious Absinthe discover the betrayal from his own inner circle? Will Bandette, the world’s greatest thief, face the deadly strangler known as Il Tredici… ALONE? And, just what is… the secret of the wardrobe? Plus: candy bars and a pirate!

Of course, all the previous episodes are also available for the same 99¢ price on Comixology, published by the good people of Monkeybrain Comics, who would like you to look at the many other fine independent, creator-owned comics they offer.
Meanwhile, if paper’s your bag, you may want to look into acquiring the hardbound Bandette Volume One: Presto!, which is available from stores everywhere, for the highly affordable price of $14.99USD. (If you should happen to buy it online, do take a moment to leave a review, please.)

I’ll be at StocktonCon this weekend as a special guest!
Find me in Artist’s Alley table number AA2 sandwiched between Stockton’s own local boy made good: Ramon Villalobos and the hardest working artist in San Leandro: Justin Greenwood.
Come see us for the art and comics but stay to watch us relentlessly clown each other all weekend long!

Sequential Art Gallery is excited to have a group show featuring the artists of Monkeybrain Comics, assembled by publishers Chris Roberson and Allison Baker. The exhibit opens on First Thursday, August 7th, with the artist’s reception from 6pm-10pm. The Monkeybrain exhibit includes work by Nick Brokenshire (Amelia Cole), Colleen Coover (Bandette), Dennis Culver (Edison Rex), Dan Goldman (Red Light Properties), Gabriel Hardman (Kinski), Ibrahim Moustafa (High Crimes), and Jen Vaughn (Avery Fatbottom: Renaissance Fair Detective).

Chris Roberson and Allison Baker launched Monkeybrain in 2012, to be a haven for creator-owned comics made available in digital format through the ComiXology platform. Named the “premier destination for high-quality digital comics” by The Onion AV Club, Monkeybrain has lived up to that reputation with Eisner-nominated titles “Red Light Properties”, “High Crimes”, and the Eisner-winning “Bandette”. Monkeybrain titles are also frequently cited in critics’ year-end surveys. Roberson is a New York Times-bestselling writer, co-creator of “iZombie”, “Memorial”, and “Edison Rex”. Baker is the Director of Operations for IDW Publishing, and producer of TV commercials & film.

The Monkeybrain group exhibit will be on display throughout the month of August, with gallery hours on Mondays from 2pm-6pm, Saturdays from 11am-5pm, and by appointment. The exhibit will close at the end of the business on Saturday, August 31st.

Sequential Art Gallery + Studio is located in Old Town Chinatown at Everett Station Lofts, 328 NW Broadway #113. The gallery showcases local artists who explore the concept of sequential art, which is loosely defined as using consecutive images to tell a story. Curated by Kaebel JK Hashitani and Merrick Monroe, with assistance from Rich Mackin and Jessica Olinger. Open for regular viewing hours on Mondays (2pm-6pm), Saturdays (11am-5pm), and by appointment.
